THE BIRD-PROJECT
Artelier? teatro de rua, com karl Ohman
I, Karl Ohman, from Sweden i´m working here in Portugal through the Leonardo Da Vinci-project. They gave me this opportunity to work at “artelier?” and develop myself as an artist. Here I’ve been helping the group with there projects but they have also helped me with my own project, The bird.
For me the bird is a singing collection. A character that I have built through the searching of moods. I could call it a living statue or an insight to another persons secret room. Here you can find life between walls of iron and stone. You can sense the crystals and the soft eggs because you will hear them.
This is a connection between the moods of chimes, the clown and colors.
I am a collector of moods and this project is one of my collections. I am putting different things together to build a specific mood, and then I placed myself in the middle to use the mood, live and play there. I am using a cage as the basic scene, and from the cage you can hear all the materials sing because of the percussion microphone (trigger).
The project is moving around. To move between different environments will feed the statue with new life and make each performance unique.
I chose the crow look-alike character because it reflects on me and of my behaviour when I have been working on this project.
